Established in 1965, the School of Journalism and Communication has the longest history of communication education and research in Hong Kong. The first Master of Philosophy programme was launched in 1977 by the late Professor Wilbur Schramm while the first Master of Social Science (M.S.Sc.) programme with a focus on communication of the School was established in 1996. Developed with a strong emphasis in corporate communication, the programme was renamed as M.S.Sc. in Corporate Communication in 2001.
M.S.Sc. in Corporate Communication programme is a taught master programme for which both full-time and part-time study modes are offered. The programme is designed to enhance students’ ability in developing, implementing and evaluating strategic communication strategies at a corporate setting. Our graduates are able to execute effective communication in different corporate communication fields such as risk/crisis communication, integrated communication, corporate social responsibility/sustainability communication. There are around 120 current students in Spring 2016 and more than 800 alumni since 1996.
To commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the Programme in 2016, we are staging a one-week celebratory Public Relations Week from 11 to 18 March 2016 to share the joy with our students, alumni and friends. The week of events includes public seminars, International Forum: Bouncing Ideas with Communication Professionals and International Conference: Emerging Trends and Challenges of Public relations and Strategic Communication in the Digital Era.
