PR Week Overview

The new media revolution in 21st century has greatly reconstructed the social network and ways of communication between people in society. The Public Relations and Strategic Communication field is facing radical changes due to the increasing popularity of social media. As a leading center of communication education in the Asia-Pacific region, the School of Journalism and Communication attempts to accommodate increasing needs of understanding strategic communication and public relations practice in the digital era. A PR week is organized to discuss the development, emerging trends and future challenges of PR and Strategic Communication amidst the rapid social, political and technological changes.

The week of events including public seminars, international forum and international conference will be held from Friday, 11 March to Friday, 18 March 2016. The event schedule is as below:

During the week, esteemed scholars in PR and Strategic Communication Studies and leading practitioners from around the world will share their findings on relationship between public relations and digital media and the trends of communication convergence in the next decade. The sharing of invited speakers is expected to provide a comparative perspective on PR practice and Strategic Communication in the globe. At the same time, the international conference will put emphasis on the study of public relations and strategic communication practice in Greater China region. As related studies are rarely conducted, valuable information on the current state and development of PR and Strategic Communication industry in Greater China region will be released.
